The Summer Sale Concludes with the Sundered Crown Boxset!

My summer sale is coming to an end and concludes with the Sundered Crown Boxset.

Get it for just 2.99p/c (normally 6.99) throughout August! Perfect timing as book 4 in the saga is now available for pre-order! (Scroll down for more info)—The first three books in the epic Sundered Crown Saga plus The Nightblade prequel novella.

The royal family of Delfinnia is assassinated, sparking a conflict that engulfs the realm – the War of the Six Claimants.

Amongst the chaos, dark things are stirring: in the mountainous lands of Eclin, the ancient N’gist cult rises, setting its evil plans in motion.

A diverse group of heroes oppose them: Luxon Edioz, the first wizard seen in an age; Ferran of Blackmoor, a legendary monster-killer; Sophia Cunning, a retired witch-hunter; and Kaiden, a noble knight of the Order of Niveren.

The Sundered Crown Saga is a tale of magic, monsters and epic battles.

Get the Temple of Arrival Paperback Now!

Hi everyone, so during this crazy time and with so many of us stuck indoors I thought I’d bring forward the release of the paperback edition of The Temple of Arrival. – mybook.to/TOAPaperback

Also because of potential delivery delays as a result of the virus causing disruption I figure that making it available now should ensure delivery by the end of the month.

The eBook is still releasing on the 31st namely due to me already having set up and paying for some marketing that’s fixed around then.

If you prefer paperbacks then get it today! In these troubling times we all need to stick together, follow the advice and stay safe. What better way to do that than curl up with a brand new book. Get your copy from the link below.

March 2020 Update

Hi all,

As I sit here looking out the window, I once again see the rain lashing down and the trees blowing wildly in the wind. This winter has felt like forever, but fortunately there are signs that Spring is rapidly approaching.

The daffodils my wife planted last year are quickly beginning to burst into life and soon our patch of garden will be thriving with wildflowers. Hopefully the summer will be a nice hot one in the UK. After all this rain we need it.

Mark it in your diaries!

Last month was a practically busy month and March promises much of the same. On the 31st, The Temple of Arrival will be launched and made available to buy via Amazon (pre-order your copy here). From the feedback from my Beta readers they’re loving it, so I hope you all will too!

Sadly, the narrator of audible version of The First Fear was unable to do The Temple of Arrival, but fortunately another narrator has stepped in and will be working away on it over the next few weeks. Hopefully the audio book version will be released close to the eBook and paperback versions.

As well as editing I’ve been working on Book 4 in the Sundered Crown Saga and it’s progressing well. I also created a guide for aspiring Indie authors and released it via Amazon.

I hope you’re all doing well and happy reading!

Matt

Ideas, Ideas, everywhere!

So many ideas!

Hi everyone, I’ve not posted in awhile. So, this is just an update on what I’ve been up to this past month.

Well in terms of writing the novels I’m afraid to say I’ve not done anywhere near enough the amount that I would have liked in January. And that’s because I’ve been settling in at my new job as a content manager, which I think is going pretty well so far.

2017 was a rough year for a few personal reasons but I did manage to release the audiobook version of Heir to the Sundered Crown, book 3 in the saga and the trilogy boxset.

This year I’m hoping for a lot more stability in my life in regards to work and will be hoping to crack on with my current works in progress. The thing is, there is I have so many ideas at the moment that I’m struggling to focus on just one project. As it stands I’m still aiming to release The First Fear sometime in the summer, but at the moment I think that will be my only release in 2018.

Never Enough Time!

Whilst working on that title I will also be working on book 4 in the Sundered Crown Saga and will also be dabbling in a few other projects. Unconquered Book 2 remains on hold due to time constraints but I will do my darnest to focus on it fully when the opportunity arises.

For this blog, I’ll be doing some more writing relating posts, movie reviews and will be opening up some slots for any guest posts that my fellow authors would like to contribute.

So here’s to a (hopefully) productive 2018!

Happy New Year – What’s to come?

Hello, everybody, I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year! I thought I’d write a post about my plans for 2018.

So last year was a bit of a rollercoaster for me jobs wise and was one where I learnt some tough lessons, both about life and writing. Life wise I learnt that we are all just a paycheck or two away from disaster and that if life decides to kick you in the nuts you can’t afford to wallow in self-doubt and give up. Instead, you must keep going and has happened to me in 2017 you will move on to better things. You just have to keep fighting and not give up!

Writing wise I took part in the SPFBO competition along with many of the brightest and most talented fantasy authors in the world of indy publishing. Alas, I didn’t make it through the first round but I did make some great new contacts and hope to try again next year.

I start a new job in January so the vast majority of my time will be focused on that, but in the time I can spare and most weekends I will still be forging ahead with my books. As things are set to become a bit hectic over the coming months I am going to be realistic with you all regarding my works in progress.

Unconquered Series

I’ve started book 2 in the Unconquered series more times than I can count but so far haven’t found a beginning that I’m happy with. Historical fiction also takes a lot of time up due to research and ensuring that it is as historically accurate as I can be. I’ll be working on this in phases throughout the year but in all honesty, I’m not expecting a first draft to be completed until 2019 at the earliest.

Progress so far – 5%

The First Fear

A first draft of The First Fear is still a few months away from completion, but I am still hoping to get it released sometime in the Spring or early Summer.  The bulk of the story has been written and I’m now working on the final quarter of the novel. I’m expecting the first draft to come in at around 100,000 words.

Progress so far – 75%

Sundered Crown Saga book 4

I’ve been planning out the remainder of the saga and have come up with something a bit different for books 4,5 and 6. As the second trilogy is set in a different land to that of the first 3 books I will be introducing a whole new set of characters and a storyline that will tie both trilogies together. Now, I’ve asked other authors about this strategy; some have warned me that doing this may upset my readers whilst others have said go for it. I would love to know what you guys think and I’ve set up a poll on my Facebook page.

Progress so far – 10%
